Vintage Nickel Victorian Inspired Chinnock Corkscrew

Item Number: KTE784390
Price: $24.99

Charles Chinnock created the first "self-pulling" corkscrew in 1862. The idea is elegantly simple in that a cylindrical frame is attached to the corkscrew so that as the corkscrew is continually turned, it pulls the cork out of the bottle's neck smoothly without damaging the cork. Nearly all modern corkscrews follow this same basic design.

This corkscrew is heavy nickel with a Victorian inspired design. There are signs it has been used to open great many bottles of wine, yet it is sturdy and is not ready to retire just yet. It still has many years of faithful service to offer.

This piece is shiny and elegant to look at and will pull corks reliably at your next dinner party.
